SpeedPaint alternative: change the drawing after it is drawn

SpeedPaint (speedpaint.co) turns an uploaded image into a hand-drawing video on its website, and inside Canva and Adobe Express, for a flat monthly price. WhiteboardAnimation.ai also draws a finished picture you upload — outlines first, then colour — and lets you change the order, hand and timing after the drawing without paying again, export transparent or layered clips, and draw through an API. We have not run the same picture through SpeedPaint yet, so this page compares what each product says and offers, not what each produced.

The same picture in both: not run yet

We compare tools by running one picture — our water-cycle illustration — through both and showing frames from each. On 21 October 2026 we uploaded it to SpeedPaint with a new account: the account had 0 credits and Animate asked us to buy, so we have not made the video yet. Until we do, this section shows only our clip.

When SpeedPaint may be the better choice

  • You design in Canva or Adobe Express and want the drawing made without leaving it.
  • You want unlimited videos for one flat monthly price.
  • Your picture has text you want drawn first or last: its sequence order has a setting for that.
  • You want its shades-of-grey sketch style.

Using both, or moving over

  • Upload the picture you want drawn as a PNG, JPEG or WebP; every picture is its own clip.
  • Change the hand, lines only, or which part is coloured first after the drawing: none of it redraws or spends a credit.
  • Put the clips into your video editor — Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut — and add your voice-over and music there.
