Golpo AI alternative: draw your own picture, not a generated one

Golpo AI writes and draws a whole narrated explainer for you: give it a prompt, a script, a document or audio, and it generates the script, the illustrations, the voice-over and the pen-drawing animation. WhiteboardAnimation.ai does a smaller job — it draws a finished picture you already have, outlines first and then colour, and you finish the video in your own editor. Pick Golpo when you have a topic and no pictures yet; pick us when the picture exists and you want it drawn as it is. We have not run the same picture through Golpo, so this page compares what each product says and offers, not what each produced.

The same picture in both: not run yet

We compare tools by running one picture — our water-cycle illustration — through both and showing frames from each. Golpo’s free video starts from a prompt or a document, and its tutorial lists inserting your own images on Business, Scale and Enterprise plans only, so on 27 October 2026 we could not give it the picture without buying a plan or credits. Until we do, this section shows only our clip.

When Golpo may be the better choice

  • You have a topic, a script or a document and no pictures: Golpo writes, illustrates and narrates the whole video.
  • You want the voice-over, music and scenes made for you, in 45+ languages.
  • You make long lessons or training videos, up to 10 minutes in one pass.
  • You want an API that turns a document into a finished narrated video.

Using both, or moving over

  • Upload the picture you want drawn — your own illustration, a diagram, or an image you generated elsewhere — as a PNG, JPEG or WebP; every picture is its own clip.
  • Change the hand, lines only, or which part is coloured first after the drawing: none of it redraws or spends a credit.
  • Put the clips into your video editor — Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut — and add your voice-over and music there.
