The prompt behind the picture

Image prompt
Hand-drawn diagram of one large flower cut in half from top to bottom to show its parts, standing on a short green stem. Five pink petals curve up and out around the centre. In the very middle stands the pistil: a sticky round stigma at the top, a thin green style below it, and a swollen green ovary at the bottom with a few small round ovules inside. Around the pistil, five stamens, each a thin filament with a yellow bean-shaped anther on top. Under the petals, small green leaf-like sepals, and the stem widens into a rounded receptacle where all the parts join. Only this one flower. Nothing else in the picture, plenty of empty space. Coloured pencil and watercolour marker, clean black ink outlines, warm off-white paper, no text.

The picture came from an image model; any finished illustration works the same way, including one you drew. Use the prompt as a starting point for your own topic.

How this clip was made

Notes from making it

Each part in the narration was checked against Britannica’s article on flowers.

Parts of a flower, step by step

A script to read over it, timed to the drawing: the lines go down first and the colour arrives on the last beat.

  1. 0:00Line artA flower is the part of a plant that makes seeds. Let’s look at one cut in half.
  2. 0:05Underneath are the green sepals. They often look like small leaves and help protect the flower.
  3. 0:10The bright petals sit inside the sepals. Their colours help attract insects that carry pollen.
  4. 0:15Around the middle stand the stamens. Each one has a thin stalk called a filament and an anther on top, where pollen is made.
  5. 0:20ColourIn the very centre is the pistil. The stigma on top catches pollen, the style holds it up, and the ovary at the bottom holds the ovules.
  6. 0:25The ovules can become seeds. All the parts join on the receptacle, the tip of the stem.

Where this parts of a flower animation fits

Use it in a biology lesson on plants, to introduce pollination and seeds, or as a short clip in a nature video for kids. The same process turns your own diagram into a clip.
