Whiteboard animation with a transparent background

Export a whiteboard animation as a transparent WebM, a PNG sequence or a green-screen MP4, in 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1 at up to 1080p, and lay it over your footage.

Yes. Export the drawing on a transparent background as a WebM with alpha or a PNG sequence, or on a solid green screen as an MP4, and lay it over your own footage in any editor. Every export renders in your browser at up to 1080p, in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or the picture’s own shape.

The subject layers of a real drawing, played with nothing behind them: switch what sits underneath, as your editor would.

Use it in your editor

A PNG sequence keeps transparency in every editor; a green-screen MP4 works anywhere with a chroma key. WebM with alpha is one small file for tools that read VP9 transparency.

  • Premiere Pro

File → Import, select the first PNG of the sequence and tick Image Sequence. Put the clip on the track above your footage. For a green-screen MP4, add Ultra Key and pick the green.

  • Final Cut Pro

Export on the green screen as MP4, put the clip above your footage in the timeline and add the Keyer effect: it removes the green.

  • CapCut

Export on the green screen as MP4, add it as an overlay above your video, then Remove background → Chroma key and pick the green.

  • DaVinci Resolve

Drag the PNG folder into the Media Pool: it arrives as one clip with its transparency. Put it on the track above your footage. A green-screen MP4 works with the 3D Keyer.

Questions

Questions

Yes. Choose Transparent in the export dialog and you get a WebM with alpha or a PNG sequence: only the drawing, the hand and the strokes, nothing behind them.
MP4 (H.264) cannot carry transparency. Use a PNG sequence or WebM for transparency, or a green-screen MP4 and your editor’s chroma key.
The background and each subject as separate transparent clips, on the drawing’s own clock, so stacked they replay it and you can move, time or drop any of them.
Yes. Pick 9:16 (or 1:1, or 16:9) when you export; the drawing is cropped to that frame. The same drawing exports in every shape without drawing it again.
No. Credits pay for drawing a picture; every export of that drawing renders in your browser and is free.
