The prompt behind the picture
Hand-drawn diagram of the three states of matter: three identical clear glass jars standing in a row on a table, joined by two curved red arrows pointing from left to right. The left jar holds one solid ice cube, the middle jar holds liquid water, the right jar is empty except for wavy white steam rising out of its open top. Under each of the two arrows burns one small orange flame. Nothing else in the picture. Coloured pencil and watercolour marker, clean black ink outlines, warm off-white paper, no text. The picture came from an image model; any finished illustration works the same way, including one you drew. Use the prompt as a starting point for your own topic.
States of matter, step by step
A script to read over it, timed to the drawing: the lines go down first and the colour arrives on the last beat.
- 0:00Line artEverything around you is made of matter, and it usually comes in three states: solid, liquid and gas.
- 0:11An ice cube is a solid. It keeps its own shape, even when you move it.
- 0:23Add heat, and the ice melts into liquid water. A liquid flows and takes the shape of its jar.
- 0:34Keep heating the water, and it boils and turns into a gas called water vapour.
- 0:45ColourA gas spreads out to fill any space it can, so the vapour rises out of the jar.
- 0:57It is the same water all the way through. Heat only changed how its tiny particles move.
Where this states of matter animation for kids fits
Use it in a science lesson on solids, liquids and gases, to start a topic on melting and boiling, or as a short clip in a kids’ science video. The same process turns your own diagram into a clip.
